Description
TRADITIONAL PERUVIAN FABRIC THAT WILL MAKE YOU TRAVEL
The mainly yellow fabric used for its manufacture is a traditional Peruvian fabric colored with ethnic patterns.
Its origins and manufacture:
It was our very experienced Peruvian artisans who carefully crafted this lovely accessory in Lima, Peru. But this traditional fabric in bright colors was made by artisans in the city of Puno, the folkloric capital of Peru.
Truly inspiring colors!
The exterior of this handbag features ethnic motifs in magical and warm colors.
This traditional yellow colorful fabric woven with love by our artisans in Peru was inspired by "The floating islands of 'Uros on Lake Titicaca".
"The Uros Islands" are located in the middle of Lake Titicaca, known as the second largest lake in South America and also the highest navigable lake of the world (3812 meters above sea level). The islands of Uros are natural floating islands, each island has a unique name and the population residing on these islands speaks the Aymara language. The predominant color of the islands is yellow thanks to the "Totora" or "Junco" plant which is used to build small houses or "chuclias" in Aymara. This plant is also used to eat but also to renovate the soil of the islands every 15 days. In order to carry out their daily activities, families travel or travel by water taxis.
